GRIFFIN: New Album Artwork Unveiled
January 8, 2007Norwegian metallers GRIFFIN have posted the cover artwork for their upcoming fifth album, entitled "The Ultimate Demise", at this location.
Tentatively due in March via Burning Star Records, "The Ultimate Demise" will contain "different bonus material depending on where the release is," the group previously said. "Nothing is for sure, but we're talking about a bonus DVD with footage from the last tour. This footage was filmed by ourselves, and is our way of inviting you all to the madness that touring is. We also have bonus tracks, videos, etc."
"The Ultimate Demise" was recorded with engineer Rune Stavnesli and producer Andy LaRocque (KING DIAMOND).
Commented LaRocque: "I think the direction of the new GRIFFIN album is more straightforward and aggressive, with a 'just broke up with my f****g girlfriend' attitude! Heavy guitars and bass, screaming vocals and sharp played drums that punches you in the face!"
GRIFFIN released its fourth full-length album, entitled "Lifeforce", in August 2005 via Massacre Records. The Japanese and European editions of the album contained a bonus track called "Unforgiver", featuring LaRocque on lead guitar.
GRIFFIN, who enlisted vocalist Rolf Bakken to front the group following the departure of Pete Beck, supported KING DIAMOND on a European tour in May and June 2006.
